Jiabi is a pole and visual artist whose work explores shared lines and edges between human bodies and their physical environment. Their practice informs the intersection of craft, blending reality and imagination through exploratory prompts.
In a society where beauty dictates the flow of energetic currency, Jiabi’s portfolio expresses her attuned awareness of fluidity and intentionality, showcasing stories of personal history through pole performance, paintings, and introspective media.
Her artistic practice began with painting and drawing in 2020, where she developed an interest in narrative imagery and the expressive potential of the human figure. As her work evolved, she became increasingly interested in movement as another form of visual expression, leading her to train in pole and performance since 2022. Acting later expanded her exploration of character and emotion, allowing Jiabi to translate many of the same themes into film and live performance.
I have performed in music videos, contemporary dance showcases, and interdisciplinary art events. My work ranges from intimate studio performances (Everybody’s Nimble) to larger public venues (The Red Pavilion), often combining technical movement with narrative choreography.
I’ve studied at New Masters Academy for visual art. In pole, I’ve trained throughout multiple studios in NYC, including Everybody’s Nimble, the Goodside, and Full Circle. In acting, I’ve studied at the T Schreiber Studio and the Barrow Group in NYC. I continue to develop my practice through ongoing artistic research and collaboration across disciplines.
Although each discipline has its own language, I view them as parts of a single artistic practice. Painting informs my visual composition, acting shapes emotional storytelling, and movement brings those ideas into physical space. Together, they allow me to explore themes of identity, transformation, and human connection from multiple perspectives.
I am currently developing new painting series alongside performance works that integrate movement and visual storytelling. I welcome opportunities to collaborate with galleries, filmmakers, performance venues, and creative teams interested in interdisciplinary art.
